I have been following the exploit of a new Nigeria female athlete named Tobi Amusan, who recently broken the world record in 100 meter hurdle race and successfully defended the title in the ongoing common wealth games in Birmingham.

Tobi Amusan in an interview granted to the media about a week ago narrated the challenges she faced before reaching the height she did. Amusan said she first started running at the age of 13 but her father never wanted her to run because he wanted him to focus on her education. She spoke about so many ordeal the father put her through but she never allowed her focus to get down. Her father admitted to have burned her training kits at a time, but later changed his mind because it is her dream to excel in sports. Today, Tomi Amusan is a world record holder in the 100m hurdles.

If you're an entrepreneur, you know that there's always a way to get something done. Even the most insurmountable obstacle can be overcome with the right amount of determination and ingenuity. So when you find yourself facing an obstacle that seems too big to overcome, don't give up! Keep looking for ways around it to make things easier.

In any field, there are those who are willing to go the extra mile to get what they want. Whether it's in business, education, or even romance, if someone is determined enough, they can find a way. If we have the motivation to take action and work consistently toward our goals, there is little possibility that we won't succeed. I have to remark that while having a strong will is a useful inclination, developing the practice of moving forward even when things are challenging is what is required to achieve success.

Many people look for assistance from others, but this is not how the world works; everything is driven by personal interests, and people combine strategies in order to achieve success, financial gain, and credibility. The way to your destination is to become your own best supporter and improve your skills, knowledge, and habits in order to pave your own path. If we accept that there is no shortcut to success, we'll be more likely to take calculated risks and go for what we want with more confidence.

It's not easy to hold on to our beliefs when we have so many people telling us that they are foolish. Building the courage to live our lives by our own principles is a hard thing to do. There will always be people who want to turn us into something we're not, whether that be the wrong gender, religion, ethnicity, or economic class. The trick is to acknowledge that some of these voices are real and to develop the determination to overcome them. The choice is always in our hands, and we are powerful enough to push back against the complacency and scarcity that often pervade our lives. Just because there are forces in the world that seem to work against us doesn't mean that we should give up. Let's continue to cultivate the resolve we need to overcome those obstacles.

Sometimes we get distracted and lose our focus. We hear a different message than the one we are receiving internally, or we're stuck in our own rut. The good news is that we are all capable of making progress.

In today's world of quick changes and intense competition, time management and organization are crucial components. Excellent planning allows us to anticipate and choose the best course of action. Since we cannot naturally advance swiftly and far, the goal is to give every task our all and do it well. Rather than putting off something that is of value, put a plan in place to accomplish it so that you'll get the results you want.

More important than any individual accomplishment is the understanding that in life, we have many roles to play, and we have to learn to adapt to the different challenges that come our way. The most important part of adapting is developing an unwavering sense of confidence in our unique purpose and knowing that the way to true happiness is to live for ourselves, not to please others.

You don't necessarily have to play the leading role in the play; it's about finding fulfillment in doing what we love. As it is in the musical, you will go where the music leads. Some people might be tempted to focus on self-defeating issues like inadequacy or insecurity. In the world of performance, you have to develop the courage to commit to who you really are, regardless of the comments, criticism, or opinions of others. Only by remaining true to ourselves can we maintain our emotional equilibrium.

You are what you say you are, so make sure you know what you are willing to work for, and then determine how you will get it. Put your mental and physical energy into something that is meaningful to you. Otherwise, you will continually feel frustrated. Too often we lose track of what our dreams are and what we truly value.

Acting in a way that expresses the core of your being enables you to express your full potential. When you perform, you learn how to work with your own strengths and weaknesses. Many people who are afraid to take risks, fall into a self-defeating cycle that keeps them from living an authentic life. Fear of failure is not a valid reason not to try something new or go for something that seems out of reach.

Finding your own balance of self-awareness, confidence, and power is a complex process. In order to fully realize your potential and tap into your inner resources, you must work on yourself. Whether you live an isolated life or a life in the spotlight, you are the one in charge. We all have the ability to self-impose and apply the brakes when necessary, but the benefits of maintaining balance far outweigh the disadvantages.

The button line is asking for nothing and giving everything. By insisting on the kind of balance that feels right to you, you will be more likely to develop and maintain a stable inner world and find the joy that life holds for you. Have fun!

We should always put our own will first. If we don't prioritize our own will, we lose focus to do other things.
