This article presents some of the most common blockchain and metaverse acronyms you need to know. We will try to explain what each acronym stands for and when it is used.

If you have been taking part in any web3, metaverse, or blockchain discussion in forums and telegram you must have come across some of these acronyms and they can be very funny and difficult to understand at the same time, especially for those who are just starting in the metaverse ecosystem.

Personally, it was hard for me to understand what most of the acronyms means at first and I am still far from understanding all of them. There are many difficult-to-understand terms that I have had to search around the internet to find some online sources that explain some of them to me. I think you too need to know the meaning of some of these acronyms that can help you navigate the broader metaverse landscape and to make a useful contribution to any web3 discussion you may get involved in.

GM - Good Morning!

GM means Good Morning! and is only used by crypto community members to greet and congratulate each other on the many success stories of different currencies, tokens, and development teams. GMs are also used to express gratitude to someone for introducing new news or news that can be helpful for the community.

A standard GM is Good morning, it's the way many fellows greet each other in the crypto space and discussion forums. The GM is an international standard for cryptocurrency and blockchain forum interactions. This short greeting has been around for a long and it has been used for connecting new users and new cryptocurrency projects with each other.

PFP - Profile Picture

PFP is used to mean profile picture. PFP are unique digital pictures people often use as their social profile avatars. They often reflect the look and feel of a certain cryptocurrency or blockchain project. PFP pictures are frequently shared on social media platforms such as Reddit, Medium, Twitter, and others, and as such, are an important feature of any blockchain-related social media.

WAGMI - We Are Gonna Make It!

WAGMI, is an iconic phrase and catchphrase used by the developers and community members in the virtual worlds (called metaverse). Pronounced as 'We Are Gonna Make It!' it is used to express the willingness of the blockchain enthusiasts to help each other out and to move the ecosystem forward. WAGMI also expresses support for the community in general and particularly in support of the blockchain project.

The opposite of WAGMI is "NGMI" which is often used to describe a particular project as "Not gonna make it" and to support that project's falling out with the other community members.

ROGD - Read It And Grin!

ROGD means Read it and Grin! it is a humorous catchphrase used by many people in the blockchain space to express their interest and enthusiasm for a particular project and to express that they are following a specific blockchain development roadmap. ROGD can be used as a phrase and is widely known and used across different blockchain and crypto space communities.

It is a very lighthearted phrase and can also be interpreted as "Reading and smiling" as the phrase was originally intended to mean.

ETA - Estimated Time to Market

ETA means Estimated Time to Market. It can be used to describe the technical release date of a particular project to its supporters, those who are following a specific blockchain development roadmap. It is frequently used in association with coin specifications and new cryptocurrency projects. It is generally accepted as the technical release date of a product or project. In other words, it is the date a certain blockchain or token is released to its blockchain and holders.

It is sometimes used by some people to market their coin or coin investment as if they are promising a tangible product that they know will be released in a certain timeframe. But there is no such thing as ETA, that is simply a marketing trick.

ATM - Accomplished Team

ATM stands for Accomplished Team. It is a very well-known phrase used in several blockchain and cryptocurrency forums. It is mostly used to congratulate a newly created team of developers and to support a project with a lot of team members.

There are other terms and abbreviations often used by many people in the blockchain space. These words are often used to express a specific feeling.

THB - That's Boring!

TBH is another funny little phrase used by many people in the blockchain space. It means to say that something is boring or dull and not interesting. It is used by blockchain enthusiasts and many developers to express that they dislike certain cryptocurrencies or to criticize certain blockchain projects. It is also commonly used by some people as an insult or put-down. It is often used as an acronym for "That's Boring! That's Hilarious!"

The above are some of the most common acronyms used by community members in the blockchain space and are just a small part of the entire language used in that space.

All in all, the language and lingo of the blockchain space are beautiful and highly creative.

It also reflects the desire of the community members to push the limits of the technology and to come up with different, yet creative and innovative ways to express their enthusiasm and pride.
