History time : Hiroshima & Nagasaki (black rain)
When the atomic was dropped over Hiroshima, the city experience a catastrophic disaster. Most of the buildings in the city were destroyed and thousands perished. However, what followed after was residual radioactivity that fell back to the city. The debris and soot from the destroyed buildings in Hiroshima mixed with the radioactive fallout from the bomb rose high into the atmosphere in the form of a mushroom cloud. This material combined with the vapor in the atmosphere and came down as dark drops of liquid that have been called black rain. Survivors describe it as consisting of large, greasy drops that are much heavier than normal raindrops. This was known as black rain. The droplets of water that fell from the sky would contain radioactive materials that could affect anyone who came to contact or consume it. A study conducted in 1945 showed that black rain had come down as far as 29 km away from ground zero. Dead fish were reported floating in water bodies. Black rain resulted in an illness called Acute Radiation Symptoms (ARS). These symptoms include nausea, diarrhea, fever, sore throat, and loss of hair. Today, a Japanese court ruled that state health care benefits should be extended to people who were exposed to radioactive black rain after the outside a zone currently recognized by the government. Before this, individuals who lived outside of Hiroshima and developed diseases due to the effect of black rain did not receive health benefits. It gives hope to many others because the decision may pave the way for the government to reconsider the limits it has set on who can be considered a survivor of the atomic bomb. #ThinkYouKnow Hope you enjoy reading and learn something from it😊 if you like my article you can hit the like button and comment if you have positive feedback and if you want to read more about history you can freely visit my wall @FelmarAlmighty and you can also subscribe to me if you haven't subscribe me yet. It was detailed report how people suffer that day, a man asking for water but there was no man his skin was peeled and only the eyes are recognizable, and many unbelievable description.
