What is cholesterol?

Cholesterol is a waxy substance found in the blood. It is a type of lipid. Cholesterol is a waxy fat-like substance the liver produces naturally to protect the nerves.

Cholesterol is vital for Formation of cell membrane, certain hormones and vitamin D. It does not desolve in water, so it can't travel through your blood on it own.

Cholesterol is needed in the body to build healthy and effective cells, but high level of Cholesterol causes heart diseases and can also develop fatty deposite in your blood vessels.

Food that contains Cholesterol 

The liver produces cholesterol, but you also get Cholesterol not only from the liver but you can get from food too. Eating too many food that are high in fat can increase your cholesterol level. Manypeople are ignorant on what they take in, cause all they want is to satisfy themselves, without looking closely at the damage it would cause to thier health.

Being blind and locked in darkness of myth about cholesterol, I would be glad to tell you about food you should watch out for to avoid high or low Cholesterol in your body

Food which contains Cholesterol and high in saturated fat are:

1. Full fat dairy such as: milk, cheese, yogurt and cream.

2. Animal fat such as: Butter, margarine, and spread made from animals fat, lard suet and dropping

3. Fatty meat and processed meat products such as: sausage

Food which contains Cholesterol and low in saturated fat 

1. Lean meat, especially offal such as: liver, kidney, sweetbreads, heart and tripe.

2. Sea foods such as: prawns, crabs, lobster, squid, octopus, and cuttlefish.

3. Egg (the cholesterol in the yolk).

You should avoid liver and affal all together because they are very rich source of Cholesterol.

Good Cholesterol and bad cholesterol 

Good Cholesterol is known as high density lipoprotein (HDL). It remove Cholesterol from the blood stream. HDL cholesterol level - 60 or higher reducing your risk for heart disease.

Bad Cholesterol is known as low density lipoprotein (LDL). LDL Cholesterol level -less than 130 is best but depends on your risk for heart disease.

If you manage all these foods and eat them at the right proportion not eating less of it and not also not eating more of it, then am sure you would have an healthy life.

There is a saying health is life, so don't waste it base on ur ignorance but fly above it like an eagle.
