Hey noisecashers. So I finished my lab work early of course mostly because the instructors had an issue with mating the zebrafish because of this not enough embryos were formed for us to study. Instead I bring to you drosophila melanogaster also known as fruit flies. We were given two tubes the first was a tube of mixed gender progeny from these we had to pick 5 males that had white eyes and curly wings. The second tube had wildtype virgin females. A wildtype means the common presentation of the fly which I believe is straight winged and red eyed. I had to euthanase the flies in order to sort them which was difficult. Wonder if I did it right... I guess I will find out if I did next week
