Yes somehow it does but its best property is the cleaning of teeth.
That's one thing I like about it. It also helps to exercise the teeth but can result in tooth ache when chewed for long.

Only issue i got with chewing gum is that if i chew for longer periods my mouth hurts i dont know why.
