Channel, was a spirited girl back then. Much braver when she has grown up, handling all her battles always makes her stand out. But she fears needles 💉 , she encounters needles first when she has toot extraction. That was the only encounter she has with the needle since she's never been into the hospital, her immune system is quite functioning well and strong just like her. Not until she gives birth, the very first moment in her life to be at the hospital. Just thinking about how the dextrose needles to be injected makes her uneasy. Much worst when her OB told her she can't have a normal way of giving birth since the baby is in the breech position, so she will undergo a Cesarean Section.

The day of the operation comes

Her awaited day has come where she will undergo the operation. The needles are longer and bigger than normal ones because the anesthesia is used to numb the half body and will be injected through her spine. They were at the hospital early in the morning for the operation but her operation started at 8 PM. Good thing, her husband is always cheering her up and keep supporting her so she will feel better. She feels very anxious that made her body started to shake.

On the way to the operating room, she's starting to shake while laying on a stretcher bed. To aid her in shaking, she began to pray, praying she will be fine. She's afraid if she keeps on shaking her vital signs might drop and will end up with complications during the operation. She keeps telling herself “You will be fine, you have to be strong. It's just needles, big girls don't cry. (She also sings a song in her mind)” The doctors and nurses started that thing before they operate on a patient like “vital signs stable, clamps, needles, etc.” The Anesthesiologist started to inject the anesthesia, she was friendly to her chatting casually not to make her uneasy. She commanded to bend in curve, it was painful because her belly was big right? So the spine will be more visible. When the needle was injected she feels the pain. But she endured it all, although she's nervous she tried her best to calm down to avoid unnecessary movements that will cause more complications in her operation. Her doctor told her not to get asleep, because 3 hours before the operation she has eaten. Her husband feeds her, without knowing it is bad and dangerous. If she falls asleep, there is a tendency she won't be able to wake up anymore. That was according to her doctor, so she remained awake and aware of the surroundings while heavily shaking, which was normal tho due to the anesthesia effect. While her operation is ongoing she keeps on praying because she's still nervous the fear was ranging on her mind. The operation went well and fine, finally, she was relieved after hearing her firstborns cry! The nurse brings the baby near her and lets her kiss!

Know your fears

To overcome your fear you have to know it first, know the reason why you have fears about that. Help yourself understand the fear and don't panic, it will not help you but will worsen the situation.

Keys in overcoming your fears

  • Stay calm- calming down will help you relieved your fears. Think positive thoughts, sing a song in your mind to erase the fears in your head (I sing a Christian song)

  • Don't panic- panicking will never help you at all but worsen the situation and triggers your mind. Don't ever panic, just relax men!

  • Find remedy- you can find a remedy to avoid the fears depending on what you feared off. (Prayer is the best remedy, pray to God, pray to the Universe, pray to Buddha, pray to Allah or whatever your beliefs just pray)

  • Breathe in breathe out- inhale and exhale it will help you calm down and relax. It will also help you regulate a good flow of oxygen so you will not be out of it.

  • Fight your fears- cast your fears aside, don't let them get into your nerves. Always tell yourself you are strong enough and nothing or no one can scare you.

P.S I wrote this one a long time ago when I was a newbie here. I wasn't able to republish it. It is stuck on my “unpublish” so I will just publish this one.
