Decision making
There are times in everyone's life when decision has to be made, and people often find it hard to make decisions. We all have to make decisions at all time, ranging from what we eat for lunch (trivia issues) to life-changing decisions like 'who to marry' or 'where to study'. Most times if not all times, people make decision through these two processes or a combination of both. **INTUITION**: This is using your 'gut feeling' about possible courses of action. Basically intuition is combining your past experience, and personal values. Intuitions are always based on reality, only your point of view. Therefore, it is worth examining your intuitions closely.
**REASONING**: This is using the facts in front of you to make decisions. Reasoning is rooted in the here-and-now.
Intuitions are perfectly acceptable means of making decisions, when the decisions is of a simple nature. We are always advised to make right decisions, and in this article I'll be sharing some step-by-step process that can help you make good decisions. **Step 1**: Identify the decision Try as much as possible to clearly defined the nature of the decision to be made. **Step 2**: Gather enough information This involves both internal and external work. Internal work involves carrying out self assessments. External work includes checking online, books, and other sources. **Step 3**: Check for alternatives As you gather information, you'll probably discover many possible paths and alternatives. You can as well use your imagination and additional information to construct new alternatives. **Step 4**: Weigh your options As you go through this difficult process, you'll begin to favour certain alternatives. So place your alternatives in order of priority. **Step 5**: Choose among alternative Select the best alternative for you. You can even choose a combination of alternatives. **Step 6**: Make a move At this point you take positive action by implement your options. The fact still remains that we're not immune from making bad decision once in a while. At that point we can't go back in time and change these choices we made, but we can lessen it's impact on us. If you find yourself in that shoe, you can try out these tips below 👇 Accept your emotions, don't suppress it. Focus on the hard facts. Don't let your bad choices consume you. Forgive yourself.
