A lot of western writers advice don't apply in Asian scenarios. In reality a lot of us Asian knows that doing show off and sharing information can be fatal. It can prove to be against you when you try to do what western people do. Keep your rich life and growth hidden from people who hate you or use you. Keep your progress and growth to yourself if you are surrounded by people who pull you. If you have happy family, don't show it off to all the world, you never know what may strike. Sharing of your growth and personal should be done in safe places. In short some western writers advice applies to their own places and not to entire world.
