Problem with being helpful mindset is that you end up meeting bad people. You meet people who don't want your help. You meet people who want your money but not your advice. You meet people who may take your advice for the day and forget about it. You meet people who take your for granted. You meet people who use you. In short, not every person you should be helping for. Establish a process to help others, not chase people to help them.
