Why use Promise when I can adopt Monero (XMR) for the same course of avoiding the government and banks overarching interference?
I'd say they created token to solve charity issues. A lot of charities are fake you can say 99% charities are fake in this world. and their group just wants to make token which bypasses the govt and money laundering dept in a white collar way as they say.
