About blockchains (and not only cryptocurrencies) energy consumption many memes has been launched in this years. The reason why in this period I'm not writing at all on read.cash, publish0x and leofinance is that I'm doing my own research, despite of my job treats exactly these problems. The matter is very complex, but I can confirm that energy consumption is the greatest threat against all crypto world and the best geopolitical weapon in the hands of governments. And, unfortunately, there are real reasons. The objection "energy can be produced by renewables" is a sort of fake: we need that energy for many other things, and we are in a big delay anyway. If you want to build a robust portfolio of energy performing cryptos (I did, with few money) I suggest Cardano, Hedera Hashgraph and Bitcoin Cash.
