Once there lived a washer man and his donkey in a village. Th donkey could carry washerman bags. At the night time the washer man could set him free in the field to eat the grass.
One day donkey met jackal and they both became friends. They started to meet every night and enjoy a lot.
One day jackal said “Uncle I have discovered a new field new ripe and juicy cucumbers not very far off. I’m sure I’ll also find some small animals for myself to eat in the field. Let’s go tonight.”
So both of them went to the feast on cucumbers. The donkey feasted to his full and said “Nephew, I’m so happy today. Look at the full moon, it’s so beautiful that it makes me want to sing.”
The jackal said “Uncle we are stealing someone’s field so you can’t sing here as the owner of the field will come and beat both of us so it’s better to eat and forget about singing.”
The donkey annoyed “A wild animal like you can’t appreciate music. I’ll show you what real music sounds like.”
The jackal saw donkey is determined to sing he said ”Uncle wait, let me go out of field to keep an eye on the owner of this field.” Saying this jackal ran out to hid himself.
The donkey lifted his face to the man started braying at the top of his voice. The farmer woke up as he can saw donkey in the moon light and ran towards the donkey. He chased him with sticks and stones and beat him badly.
As the donkey limped out of the field the jackal said “That was very nice singing, I saw the farmer has rewarded you well!”
Moral: There is a place and time for everything.
