Finally time to start gardening again, today I started leeks, red onion, ornamental gourds and cherry tomatoes. I ordered lots of seeds, hopefully they come tomorrow and I can start some of them. I'm eager to start growing!

I started cherry tomatoes today, I really hope they do well. I started them in a small air-pot, I put a plastic bag over the pot and secured with an elastic band to help them germinate. I've never done that before so hopefully it works. It's still chilly here so I hope I haven't started them too early but I will keep them indoors anyway so they should be okay.

Corkscrew Hill, County Clare. I've always been terrified driving on this road since I was a kid, it is a series of very sharp bends but my God the view on a good day is spectacular.

Ballyvaughan, County Clare, Ireland. Such a beautiful quiet town, which is hard to find these days. A pure Irish village, I would love to live here but it is very rare to see a house for sale or rent here, the people are happy and don't want to leave.

I can't wait for all my fruit trees and bushes to blossom, I can't wait to eat a native Irish apple 🍎 I hope my inexperience doesn't kill any of these beautiful plants.

Time to start some seeds, I've lots of pots and we got an allotment again this year so I can do plenty and with fears around food supply it is a good time to start growing your own food don't be reliant on shops 🌱

In Ireland it's traditional to plant your potatoes on St. Patrick's day. This is only my second time planting spuds and the last time was a fail ☹️ hopefully this time it'll work out better 🥔 Happy St. Patrick's day to everyone and remember in Ireland we do not say 'Patty's Day' Patty is female in Ireland it's short for Patricia, really drives me mad hearing it, only Patrick's day or Paddy's day will work ☘️

Weather is glorious today, even feels a little warm, not T-Shirt and shorts warm but we're not far off it now. I can't wait and I know the kids are sick of being stuck inside most of the time 🌞

My goji berry tree showing signs of life, goji berries are a superfood and I've never eaten one fresh or dried so I'll be interested in what it's like to eat.

The first seedling to peak through, 😊 it is always a great relief to see them pop up. This is an ornamental gourd, they're like cute little pumpkins of different colours usually white or green.

This fella is flying it, the nice sunny weather we are getting is doing wonders for my seedlings, another gourd has peeked through the soil, a lettuce plant is just about to break through and my two cherry tomato plants have also popped out 🌱

My lovely chrysanthemums, I'm going to put them in a big pot with my eucalyptus tree, they look so pretty I think I will buy more for inside the house cause they really brighten the place up... They were on sale too €2 each 😃 I love a bargain.

I had to add some girly colours to my cloth nappy collection for my first daughter, Katie, when she arrives. They are so cute, my favourite has to be the pink with hares 😍 Exciting times 🤰🏻👶🏻

If these seedlings were racing then the ornamental gourds would be winning by a mile... I definitely did them at the right time, I only did them around 8 days ago and they are doing so good, it's mad what a little bit of sunlight can do 🌞

Finally planted my eucalyptus tree and chrysanthemums, I think this will look lovely when the tree fills out more. I'll miss the flowers in the house though they really brightened the place up

My new Aloe Vera plant, my last two which grew huge died after I forgot to bring them inside when the winter came, they ended up looking like something from a horror movie. I'm going to leave this one inside all the time, to be safe.

Repotted our Christmas tree, I really hope this lasts for years, some day we will have to plant it in the ground when it gets too big... If I haven't killed it by then.

What a day, really wish my husband didn't have to work but being a chef he will never have holidays off or very rarely at least. Today will be very busy where he works with people bringing their mothers out for dinner for Mother's Day... At least my toddler gets to enjoy being outside in the sun 🌞

It's alive! My gooseberry bush is showing lots of signs of life, very exciting. I only ever had a gooseberry when I was very young I don't even remember if I like them, I'll find out soon.

Mother's Day present my husband got me from my son's, I love getting presents that are both sentimental and practical, I needed a garden sieve too. I'm not into generic cards or teddies with hearts that usually go in the bin or lost in storage somewhere gathering dust.

A friend has traded me 2 chili 🌶️ plants and a pepper plant for organic leek seeds, trading plants is a great idea and fun. Now I have 2 cherry tomato plants, 2 chili plants and a pepper plant, luckily my husband likes spicy food, I'm more for plain old Irish food haha

These are Irish Wolfhounds, their names are Saoirse and Méabh. Irish Wolfhounds were the dogs of the old Irish Celtic kings, their numbers are dwindling unfortunately, they are big, beautiful and extremely friendly dogs.
