A few minutes with nature and my mind was cleared. I took the dogs out to pee and I spent few seconds outside. It's dark yet I could see the trees forming silhouettes against the night sky. I almost forgot they're a lot here where I live. Our little house is in a small compound surrounded by small houses , some medium-sized ones, and nature, sounds of birds, crickets at night, singing frogs especially on rainy days, and chickens and ducks. Dogs, and cats, of course. I used to dream of living in the city, or like a condo unit where I can see the buildings and businesses from my window, and I still think of that dream from time to time. Yet, I admit nothing will replace the kind of home I spent most of my life in. I love the wind that provide comfort and good sleep, the noisy neighbors who share their food whenever there are birthdays. I love all the memories with my loved ones who've been there since day one, and those who are no longer in my life. Right now, I could hear the breeze making the trees dance and it's making me sleepy yet warm. I used to be a confused 14-year old teen who did not know she'd achieved stuff she used to imagine before. Not still in her dream life, far from it, even, but more experienced and more grateful. Thank You, Lord, for these little moments that ground me to life, and pull me out from auto-pilot mode. Weekends are the best, aren't they?
