Stars
"It's so beautiful," she said as she stared at the night sky, her eyes reflecting the numerous stars. "Yeah, it is," I said as I watched her. Her hair is black and silky, glistening like the stars above. She turned to look at me with her dark brown eyes,I immediately felt flustered.Quickly turning my glance up the stars, I couldn't help but tackle a smile. She giggled soflty and I felt even more embarrassed. "You're cute," her soft voice gives me the chills. "I'm not cute." I quickly replied and I soon mustered enough courage to look her in the face.It seemed like I was peering in the universe itself, her eyes reflecting the mysterious world above us. We became silent, just staring and getting lost in each other's eyes. My heart beated fast and loud, and I was afraid that she could hear it. We stayed that way for a moment. But then, she started leaning closer to me. I swear my heart leapt out of my chest as she pressed her lips on mine, still a little sticky from her lip gloss. Then I woke up, sitting in my bed. I stared at the wall, tears beginning to form, I was afraid at first, but then I turned my head to see that no one was there lying in the same bed. I buried myself into the covers, too sad to even cry. She was gone. I looked down at my hand, where I still wore my wedding ring. Even though she was gone, I refused to take it off. All I could do was to stare at the shiny wedding band.It was very modest, but it reminded me of the way the stars twinkled and shined that night. That night when we had our first kiss..
