Art is not doing something nice. Nice things are done by anyone. I remember a video by Loulogio, critic Salvador Dalí (the painter). And I honestly couldn't take him away. Art must have personality. It's easy to paint something cute. But it is worth nothing when it is empty. And I found in much of current art, the impossibility of demonstrating something, of generating something beyond "oh how cute". Make you think, make you feel uncomfortable, sad, happy, whatever. But let it make a difference and last in your conscience over time. Established artists have spent most of their lives being poor. Because it takes a lifetime to achieve something more than just "how cute." And many do not.
