My 1st Salary From New Job (₱85,000 in 12 Days) I finally received my first salary from my new part-time job today. A total of €1,274.90 after tax (approximately ₱85,000) for working 12 days last July.
Working a physical job — I now work in a restaurant — is something I never imagined I’d be doing. For the last three years before moving to the Netherlands, I worked from the comfort of my home, spending long days and nights behind my computer chasing and raking in every dollar I could earn. Now, things are different. And honestly, I’m enjoying this new experience. Working in the restaurant gives me a thrilling kind of adrenaline rush. There’s always something happening, and I love the fast-paced environment that keeps me on my toes. But I won’t lie. It gets really tiring. My feet ache, my back screams by the end of the day, and sometimes I crash into bed the moment I get home. Still, moving to a new country taught me that growth sometimes means starting over. It means humbling yourself, embracing discomfort, and learning new things with an open heart. Every shift challenges me physically and mentally, from standing for hours to adjusting to a world so different from what I was used to. There were moments I felt like giving up… but then I remind myself why I’m here: to grow, to experience, and to build something meaningful from the ground up. This first paycheck isn’t just money. It’s proof that hard work pays off, even when it’s outside your comfort zone. It’s a reminder that no job is small, and that there is dignity in every kind of honest work, whether you’re behind a screen or on your feet. To anyone starting over, feeling unsure, or walking an unfamiliar path — keep going. Progress doesn’t always look glamorous, but every step forward matters. Stay grounded, stay grateful, and keep striving to be better than yesterday. 🌱✨
