I Got Myself an Iphone 17 Pro As a Reward After 1 year and 4 months of living here in the Netherlands, I finally decided to reward myself with something special — the newly released iPhone 17 Pro (worth around ₱90,000 😅).

If my 20-year-old self could see this, she’d probably be a bit disappointed but also really proud. Because she knows how long I waited before giving myself something like this. I started earning at 15, and that’s when I learned how important delayed gratification is. While others spent on things they wanted, I always went for the cheaper options — saving and investing most of what I earned so my money could grow. When I reached my first million pesos at 21, I almost bought an iPhone, but then I thought, “Why buy something I can barely afford 10 of, when there are cheaper phones that can do the same job?” So I waited. I worked harder. I focused on my bigger goals. Now, at 25, I finally got it not because I needed to, but because I can. I’ve reached a point where I can finally enjoy the things I once thought were out of reach. I did hesitate at first, wondering if it was a financial mistake but maybe it’s just the right time. The right time to enjoy the fruits of all those years of patience and discipline.

It’s not really about the phone. It’s about the growth, the mindset, and the self-control that made this possible. It’s proof that waiting and working hard really pay off and that it’s okay to treat yourself when you’ve truly earned it. So this one’s for the younger me - the girl who worked hard, saved harder, and dreamed quietly. She’d be proud to see how far we’ve come. ✨ And here’s to the next bigger goals.
