Kinetic Theory ;Gas law

Study of Gases Matter in the gasous state has different characteristics from that in the solid and liquid states. Thus the behavior of gases is expected to differ from that of solid and liquid Assumption of the kinetic theory of gases The gas law which explain the physical behavior of gases can be explain with the kinetic theory of gases, the theory explain the behavior of an ideal or perfect gas it states the following The gas molecules move randomly in straight lines colliding with one another and the shape of the container as a result the speed of the molecules differs and is constantly changing. The Collins of the gas molecules are perfectly elastic. When two molecules combine the individual energies may change and one may move father while the other one slows down but their total kinetic energies remain the same that is the kinetic energy is concerted to heat The actual volume occupied by the gas molecules themselves is negligible relative to the volume of the container The cohesive forces between the gas molecules are negligible The temperature of the ha is a measure of the average kinetic energy of the gas particles. In the above theory certain assumption have been made to simplify the description of the behavior of gases, real gses, however show deviation in the behavior as given in the theory.
