A festive walk in a summer night
Hello again everyone!
And today another walk, exactly a remember of one from last week around here, and although for the rest of you it is virtual in some way you accompany me on a walk that, this time, has been something different. In this occasion, this walk it is not the typical walk through nature or through the typical streets of the city, nor enjoying the sea breeze or the sun. On the contrary, a walk at night, and not relaxing, but in a party or festive atmosphere.
In my new city it's holidays, the festival time, I still don't know much about where things are, nor do I know many streets, but by chance I was able to read the program of festive events and I saw that very close to the square where the Mayor's Office is (that is, the branch of the City Council of the urban center) and the Municipal Market was going to give the starting gun shot towards the air...
We had to go to investigate or browse and when we arrived walking through streets that were too quiet, we found a mass of people, jumping with flags (of their local groups, although they seemed like soccer teams) and many fires. Flares everywhere.
At the same time from the main balcony they were throwing water at those below and below they also lit a foam cannon, with the heat that it was even at midnight, many young people enjoyed. It didn't reach the rest of us and I took the opportunity to take photos. At once the fireworks began, a classic in the summer skies.
And then they all started moving in the same direction, where were they going? I didn't know anything but I decided to do the same, follow them, so taking another walk, we reached the clearest area near the port. They had set up everything there. I mean, for one thing, there was the amusement fair with all its lights, rides, and cotton candy. Also an area with more food stalls and where to sit in company to eat.
There is more, in the other part, a large enclosure, lattice and metal, for all bullfighting events, and with its corresponding box in the upper area for each group, association or "peña". At the bottom you can be safely between the bars without accidents. There are many people here who really like these shows, and they are usually just that, more shows and not acts of killing animals, which is different.
Nor could a stage be missing in a completely clear area next to the venue so that people, I suppose later in the night, start dancing and drinking. Under all those lights in that port-industrial environment, so close to the usual streets and at the same time sufficiently separated, by an avenue and more, so that it does not bother anyone, those who want to rest.
And returning from the curious walk along that same avenue, after leaving the crowd, the agglomeration, the party and the hubbub... the silent night returns, where you can almost hear your own footsteps while you look at everything lit up like the facade of this church of Our Lady of Begoña (Iglesia Nuestra Señora de Begoña), who welcomes us back before we enter the perpendicular and parallel streets, making eses, walking under streetlights until we reach home. Now for the hour, it's time to sleep.
Soon and sure more new walks at night or during the day, all kind of walks are nice.
