In an interview with Reuters, Jack Dorsey, CEO of Twitter and Square, has reaffirmed his interest in Bitcoin which he considers the best native currency on the Internet:

He said, “I think the internet wants a currency and wants a native currency, Bitcoin is probably the best manifestation of that so far. I don't see that changing given the number of people who want the same thing. Our job as a tool creator is to facilitate access to everyone, to make it easy to understand and above all to use. So we have to build Bitcoin in such a way that it is as intuitive, fast and efficient as what exists today and that it obviously goes beyond anything that already exists”.

Through Square, Jack Dorsey also launched the Cryptocurrency Open Patent Alliance (COPA), a non-profit organization fighting against the misuse of patents in the cryptocurrency industry. The COPA is tackling the problem of patent blocking using a two-pronged approach. First, COPA members commit to never use their crypto patents against anyone except for defensive reasons, thus making these patents freely available to everyone. Second, COPA creates a shared patent library in which members pool all their cryptographic patents to form a collective patent shield, allowing members to use the patents of others to give small businesses the tools and the means to defend oneself.
