I have made it to Colorado. I spent the morning hiking and trail running in the foothills west of Denver. It was cloudy and somewhat cool and dry, perfect for getting out and exercising.
Look at all the nice beautiful colors in these rock layers. This is along I70 highway that goes up in the mountain from Denver, Colorado. The layers of rock have been tilted vertically by geological process.
These are pictures from opposite sides of the highway that show the tilted rock layers.
Making my way up further into the mountains till my final destination. Its brisk out at 45 F. Across the street is Copper Mnt. Ski area.
That big beautiful mountain up ahead is Mount Massive. A 14,000 ft peak mountain.
And, I have found my campsite with a creek close by. The air is alot thinner because of the altitude, probably a little above 10,000ft elevation. I can feel my heart beating a little faster to pump more blood and oxygen through my body. It's nice and sunny right now, looks like they've been getting a good amount of rain.
I have a nice little clearing through the pine trees of Mt. Elbert, Colorado's highest peak, well over 14,000ft.
Heres the dirt road that goes to Mt. Eelbert trailhead., and my trusty mountain bike that's perfect for these dirt roads.
Ok, last picture for the day. Same picture as before but without the bike in it. Mt. Elbert, Colorado's highest peak.
Ok, maybe a few more. I rode my bike down the dirt road out of the pine trees to where it opens up into a nice valley. This is looking east northeast back to the town of Leadville.
This is my little camp spot. It's free because I'm in a National Forest. Instead of a tent, I use a hammock and sleeping bag. It got chilly last night, down in the 30's F. I have to break out my warmer sleeping bag tonight. I didn't have any coffee this morning because I didn't want to drive 10 miles to the store. Its warm during the day, in the 70's F. But enjoying the nice quiet outdoors.
Yum! Dinner time. Who doesnt like a hot cup of ramen?
I made a nice happy warm fire to warm me up this morning.
I'm not really one to take pictures of flowers, but theres so many of these around and I had to look them up to find out what they are. These are Fireweed, usually the first plant to grow back after a forestfire.
Went for a bike ride this evening, and when I was coming back up the valley took this pic of Mt. Massive. It's not the best, its cloudy and looking towards the west.
Got marshmallows?
BTC is going back up, ETH is going back up and I think BCH is following their lead! Let's hope so.
I took a bike ride further and higher into the mountains late morning. It's so hazy and smoky because of wildfires further out west blowing smoke to the east. But I managed to get a pic of myself.
I was able to get back out this evening and take some more pics of the sunny, hazy, smokey mountain landscape. The creek in the picture is Halfmoon Creek. It flows down from way high up in the mountains.
I broke down and decided to stay in a hostel for a couple nights. Theres an old train depot down the street that's still running 2 tours eveyday. This train is a display, not working. Leadville, Colorado.
Colorado high peaks this morning. The hazy smoke has cleared out some.
I went for a hike this morning, rode my bike a couple miles to the trailhead then hiked up the mountain to just above the tree line.
My glamour shot at 13,000ft.
Everybody from the U.S. should know who this is next to me, maybe people in other countries as well. He was taking a break with me and posed for a picture. Haha.
Went for an hour long hike up the trail this evening, and turned around and did a slow run back down. I'll probably give it try this weekend, summiting Mt. Massive.
The best real pizza I think I've ever had.
BCH is steadily climbing. It was good to pick some up when it was low for a month or so. But keep going up!
Are they gonna start accepting crypto to?
I captured this beautiful mountain picture on my hike back down to my vehicle. Its Mt. Elbert framed by nice tall pine trees. Colorado.
Oh crap! This is the start of Terminators and skynet! That's amazing though what they can do. https://www.theverge.com/2021/8/17/22628663/b oston-dynamics-atlas-video-parkour-flips-falls-program
