I couldn't sleep cause I had two rounds of coffee session today and my brain is hyped. I spent time looking for materials for Sunday School cause I was given the privilege to teach young women every Sunday. And I came across the book of John Piper "The Hidden Smile of God". It's the book two of his series "The Swans are Not Silent." These books are about great great men of faith. And one of the people in this second book is John Bunyan and I was intrigued cause I've read his book "The Pilgrim's Progress". (What a beautiful book! Cried lots for it) And John Piper wrote this statement in his long intro "With great spiritual privilege comes great pain." These great men of God loved and served God with all their heart, mind, and soul not because it's convenient and comfortable for them. They went through great pains and discomfort. And I'm kind of rebuked by their lives cause in my pains and discomfort I want relief from God even if it's through death. And that is selfish of me. I'm just thinking about my self, my own relief. And reading that statement, I had this renewed mind that I'm going to embrace all my pains. It's a privilege to suffer for God. People from this world will never understand what that means because they only knew how to love and value themselves and things and people important to them. I'm disillusioned with this kind of mindset for a while now but God wants me to see differently. He wants my growth in love and suffering for Him and not my comfort. And I'm willing to suffer for God, even though it will only seem foolish and blinded in the eyes of the world. #LoftyThoughts
