What do you sell?

I believe we all know that every one of us has something to sell as long as we breathe. When I am talking about selling, I am talking about anything we do as a means of making ends meet. I would want you to pay particular attention to the flow of this post today because I believe that it might be what you have been looking for all this while. When you wake up in the morning, you would not forget to brush your teeth either with toothpaste or make use of mouth wash. This does not stop there you will go to the length of having your bath just to keep your body clean and devoid of any unpleasant smell. A typical you will rally around to find what to eat as a means of energizing your body to be fit for the day’s activities. Now, the question to ask is this; why must I go through all this stress every day before leaving the house? The reason is not far-fetched because every human being has this great tendency to survive in life and nobody wants to be a failure therefore, going the extra mile to keep body and soul together subsists.

 

Do you know that what you sell and how you sell it goes a long way to determine how successful you will be? There are no two ways about survival in life, it is either you survive or you perish. Those who have understood this singular fact will always look at every opportunity as their only shot to success. This is why they will always do everything within their power to package their product very well. In the world of economics packaging is one aspect that manufacturers don't joke with because they understand that it is the first the buyer will see before the main product, so if they use some sort of packaging that does not depict or portray the richness of their product, they would end up losing their customers. Now, let us use this strategy in our real-life experiences and endeavours. Imagine a musician who dresses shabbily each time he is called to perform, do you see in becoming successful in his field? The answer is outright No. It is not because he does not know how to sing rather he lacks the charisma of a performing musician which people see most times before anything else.

 

It is just like seeing a doctor who does not have good human relationship skills, you will always notice that no patient will like to come back to his hospital the second time. This is not because he does not know what he is doing as a doctor rather it is because he does not have a good package for his product. Can you imagine meeting a doctor who is very hostile even to his sick patients? I believe it is hard for you to imagine such. Let us look at a teacher or lecturer who finds it hard to listen to his students. He will end up talking and will not be able to hear when the students are trying to pass vital information to him either for him to repeat what he said or just for him to know that they are not following in his explanation. Packaging is what gives you an edge over others who are in the same field of endeavour as you. A lot of us have neglected this vital part of their life and this has become their greatest enemy. What you sell and how you sell it goes a long way to contribute to your success. It is one thing to have a product and it is another thing to know how to sell it to the people who will buy it.

 

Packaging is not just about what you sell it goes beyond it. You cannot be going to see the president of your country dressed shabbily. You will not be allowed to come close to your president not because you are not human but because you are not presentable. I have had reasons to change my mind over what I have already planned to buy while I was still in the house but on getting to the market, a product’s beautiful package catches my eyes and immediately, I changed my choice and bought that product even when it was not what I had in mind to buy in the first place. The reason you take care of yourself is that you do not want to be caught accidentally looking very dirty either by friends or strangers. At all times, we must be ready to package ourselves as humans because we do not know when we will be allowed to sell ourselves and the content we have inside of us. Remember that opportunity comes to those who are prepared for it at all times and not to those who wish for it to come. Life is not lived through wishes but trials and reality. What do you sell and how do you sell it? These are the two important questions you must ask yourselves after reading this post. Whenever we go out we are selling ourselves in some way, if you go out well dressed you draw the attention of some people, but if you go badly dressed you draw the attention of other people, it will depend on where you are going, when I go to the market I try to dress inconspicuous, but to an event, it's different. Good article.

You said it all in your article. I really felt it right from the beginning when you said Selling. The first that came to my mind was packaging.

Because myself and a friend of mine had a gist on a guy who was called by a company to come and sew some suit for them. He said he do sew those suits normally at the rate of 30k but when the company would sell their the tagged it at the rate of 120k. Then I realized branding and packaging matters

Some people would choose to dress for comfortability and convenience. They don't mind about other people's impression. For me, it is really vital to dress properly and accordingly so you will leave a good impressiona and remark on others
