Those of us in the religious world especially those in the corridors of Catholicism will understand what I call the trinity in the Christian faith. I will love to liken technology, cryptocurrency and the internet to the world’s most powerful trinity which opens every door if adopted wholly. Just as those in the Christian dorm will not do anything without the help of the trinity, it is in the same vain that the world cannot move without the collective workings of this great and powerful element which I call TIC (Technology, Internet, Cryptocurrency). Have you ever been faced with the challenge of explaining or teaching the youths about Cryptocurrency? Most times it baffles me to know that a lot of youths are ignorant of what cryptocurrency is and how it works. This is mostly seen in the corridors of the African continent and amongst the youths in Africa. Let me take you back a little to pre covid 19 periods. You will agree with me that a lot of people and even government agencies did not have anything to do with zoom meetings or virtual meetings of any type but after the coming of covid 19, we have witnessed a great increase in the usage of virtual apps for meetings both in the governments and within private individuals.
What does this mean? It means that the world should not act blind to the issues bordering on technology and its usage. If for any reason there was no development of apps which can be used for virtual meetings before now, what do you think would have been the case of government agencies and the world at large? The stock market of the world today has companies who have gone into the development of apps for virtual meetings in the leader board because of the growing need. Now, let us look at the internet. Before now, the internet has been used for several things ranging from cybersecurity, cybercrime, education, explicit contents etc but before now, the internet was not seen as a great tool by which the world can use to harness great potentials. This is made known by the abolition or restriction of internet usage in some countries of the world either because of bad government policies or due to the influx of cybercrime.
I must state that the benefit the internet has outweighed its negative impact in the world today. Imagine a world where there was no internet when covid 19 struck, a lot of people would have died of loneliness in their houses due to the general lockdown which was seen all around the world. There were cases of families being separated but they were still able to communicate with each other through the help of the internet. If we go further we will understand that the long down opened a lot of positive doors to so many people in the world. For instance, I joined the crypto space during the lockdown because I need to make ends meet and today, I am glad I did join the crypto space. When we talk about cryptocurrency and its general adoption and acceptance the world over, what we mean is we want to have a world where we can be able to trade bought online and offline with cryptocurrency as a legal means of payment.
It won’t be out of place for me to say that %75 of those who have currently joined the crypto space all came to know about it because of the coronavirus lockdown. Imagine if there was nothing like crypto, I bet there won’t be anything like blogging sites that will be paying you for your content. A lot of blogging sites have now risen because cryptocurrency has made it very easy for them to make payments to their workers online without bordering themselves on how the workers can be able to convert their earnings into fiat (local currency) for use. There is a great potential entwined in the powerful trinity known as TIC (Technology, Internet & Cryptocurrency) if the world will give it a chance and embrace it.
Recently, a lot of countries are placing a ban on crypto and crypto-related matters and they are embracing Technological advancement and the internet not knowing that removing crypto from the three is like trying to enjoy an omelette without eggs. Can the body function without the heart? It is high time the world leaders looked beyond now and straight into the future to understand that with cryptocurrency, the future of technology and the internet will not be complete. They need to understand that the world is passing through a phase where everyone and everything will be made to go around technology, the internet and cryptocurrency. The pertinent question is; what will be the case of the world if we are faced with a greater challenge like that of covid 19 in the future?
This is the time every child should be thought what and how the crypto space works irrespective of race, ethnic and religious background. It is appalling to know that in Africa where there is a greater need for development in all the sectors of the economy, government leaders are still seen banning the crypto and every crypto-related matter instead of trying to key into crypto and by so doing provide policies that can create an enabling playing ground for everyone. There is been fear of scam which is largely associated with crypto matters in Africa. This is because of a lack of proper orientation and a lot of people who are interested in joining the crypto space fall into the hands of scammers who pose as cryptocurrency dealers even when they are not. If the government of the world will come together to accept cryptocurrency as a way forward, they will be able to proffer solutions to issues that are negatively slowing the general adoption of crypto in the world. The world must have to adopt TIC as the powerful trinity that will boast the world economy even in terms of crisis just as seen with covid 19. Stay safe and practise social distancing.
