What you would love to hear over what you should hear.

There is no need to flog a dead horse or even trying to wake a sleeping lion when you know that it will use you as meat once it wakes up. It is a known fact that a horse can only be forced to the stream but cannot be forced to drink, hmm if you doubt it, a trial will convince you. Gone are the days when people care more about the truth or honesty whenever they seek your opinion on issues. It has gone very bad that most people will expect you to respond in a way that suits what they have in mind and if your response is contrary then, you are not a true friend but is that **what it should be?** We now expect people to tell us what we want to hear and not what we should hear. This has even eaten deep into the corridors of power which is why someone who knows that he has no good intentions towards governance will present a list full of lies as his political manifesto and people will swallow it **hook, line and sinker.** It is not about them rather it is our idea towards accepting lies as truth because it makes us feel better or because we assume they will keep to their part of the deal.   We see this happening not just in the government but in the families, market place and even in our churches. How did we get to this place? For those who are in the western world, they may not understand what I am trying to x-ray in this article but I believe that there are pockets of such things happening within their region. I have decided to lead you on since you prefer to live in lies even when the truth stares you in the face. Can you imagine a mother making excuses for his son who was caught in the act of stealing? You will hear things like; ***“my son is not a thief, he has never stolen before, neither I nor his father is a thief, therefore, he could not have stolen that item, there must be a mix up somewhere”.***  Instead of the mother saying things like; ***“I am surprised, how did this happen? Son, did you do this? Son, why did you do it? Please son, talk to me so that I can be able to help you, son, you need to see a counsellor”.*** The reason she will not do the latter because she does not want to accept the fact that this son of hers did steal even when he was caught in the act.   Just like this mother, a lot of us behave in this way making it very hard for our loved ones who have done one evil or the other in the community to face the arm of justice in a way to correct and stop them from committing such crime again. I guess you would not like what I have already said therefore I will now tell you what you would love to hear. ****In the Family**** Why should you forgive your husband when you caught him pants down with another woman? You must be a joker for you to have allowed your wife to insult you in that manner, are you not the husband and the head of the house? Don’t even dare to flog or scold your son for disrespecting you in that manner, just get him a wonderful gift as a pat on the back for disrespecting you. Are you expecting me to tell you that you should scold him? Nahhh… I’m not going to do that. Since you enjoy living in dishonesty. Isn’t that what you wanted to hear or are you among those who love to hear the truth even when it is painful.   ****In the Government**** This is always seen especially in African politics. It s always disheartening to see the same people who listened to this same lies by the same person some years back gather again to listen to it again all in the name of a political manifesto. You will hear something like this; ·        My government will give you a steady power supply (meanwhile, they have not seen power supply for the past 3 years since he entered the office in the last tenure).   ·        I will make sure that the roads are constructed up to your doorsteps to enable you to move freely and comfortably. ·        I will give free education to your children if you vote me as your president meanwhile, for the last 3 years, the education sector in the country has been on constant strike due to non-payment of workers’ salaries. ·        If you vote for me in this second term, I will make sure that you sleep with your two eyes tightly closed meanwhile the level of insecurity has risen so much that even the president cannot work freely from his office to his car park. ·        I will turn the economy around by bringing in foreign investors who will come to establish their business in our country meanwhile the last foreign investor just left the shores of the country due to the reoccurring kidnap of its workers. As they are saying all these lies to the people who already know that it is all lies, you will see some group of people who will be singing songs of solidarity just because of what they will benefit from at the moment.   ****Lie on the Pulpit**** This is where it gets so bad because we are expected to get some amount of succour in the house of God but the reverse is the case. A preacher will mount the pulpit and open his mouth just to deceive these people who somehow knows that most of the things the preacher man is saying are all lies especially when it comes to giving money and donating for the work of God. You will hear things like; ·        The Holy Spirit ministered to me that it is time for us to rebuild this temple meanwhile the church is barely 2 years. ·        The Holy Spirit says that five persons will give $1000 each. You will be surprised when you see over 6 persons coming out to donate and this keeps me wondering, is that the Holy Spirit is not accurate or is that the pastor lied against the Holy Spirit? ·        He will tell the congregation to come and claim the prophecy with some cash and everyone will forget that passage of the Bible where Christ admonished his disciples to give freely for they have received freely. ·        He will tell them that the Holy Spirit says that the church should buy a new car for him for his ministry meanwhile there are thousands of worshippers who can barely feed. Is that the Holy Spirit does not know that these people will feel better if the church can support them with food items? We have all given room for one form of lie or the other just because we chose to accept what we want to hear instead of what we should hear.   I have done my part by telling you some of the things you want to hear instead of the things you should hear. Kindly study them and see if you can abide by them. lest I forget, the crypto market is in red now so I know you wound not want to hear the truth therefore let me tell you this; ·        Don’t hodl, sell your assets now so that you can buy back when the market is bullish. ·        Stop doing proper researches on projects before you ape in cause it will waste your time. ·        Don’t ever buy the dip because it will not profit you. Lol… I presume you know what you want and what you believe in. See you either at the top or probably I will be watching you fall straight into the pit.
