Prayer Theme: Power for Impact
Text: Isaiah 61:1-4
The Christian life is a life of power. That is why becoming part of the kingdom starts with the reception of power(John 1:12). We need this power because forces, including the flesh, will always want to make it impossible for us to remain children of God and to make impact, that is, to produce results. This is the reason many are Christians but there is little or nothing to show for it within and around them. They have not yet come to understand their new life in Christ and what it takes to walk in it.
To make impact, you need to:
1. Die to sin (Rom 6:11).
2. Walk in the Spirit(Gal 5:16).
3. Pray always (1These 5:17).
4. Have the word of God living in you(Col 3:16).
5. Grow (2Pet 3:18).
Because the Christian life is a result oriented one, God wants to change us,people and situations around us as well as the world. He wants to do extraordinary things through us as we see in our text. He wants to do these things through the power of the Holy Spirit that is at work in us(Eph 3:20).
On a daily basis, God wants to use you to change the world. Will you allow Him?
