#Throwback to 1 year ago today, when we were tourists in our city, Florence. There are amazing courtyards surrounded by columns, artworks by the greatest artists of the Renaissance everywhere you look; the streets of Florence are enriched with stunning sculptures and all you can do is stand there in silence, contemplating them and admiring their beauty. The best part? It’s all free! cause Florence is often referred to as an open-air museum. #Dana📸

Bom dia from Portugal! 🤩 From yesterday walking through Costa Nova. What a charming atmosphere! Not only a nice place, but a whole city with a particular housing style: original striped facades. They’re all candy-colored and striped with cute porches and old-school window shutters. Exploring the picturesque Torreira fishing harbour. After our lovely walk in Costa Nova we visited Torreira, on the coastal strip that separates the river from the ocean. Torreira is a fisherman's village which is confirmed by the lots of traditional 'bateiras' that are docked usually there. These beautiful boats offer to the view a stunning spectacle of vivid colours. Absolutely a must for a visit on the lagoon waters. 📍 Torreira, Aveiro Portugal #Dana📸

What's for lunch? Yesterday we had lunch here, we celebrated my hubby's birthday. Very good food, drank toasts to love, happiness, many more birthdays and travel the world ! Yay🥳 Clams & mussels in garlic sauce was the best seafood we had for some time and octopus was grilled to perfection. Leaving the beauties of any big city and getting into the mountains to Covão dos Conchos. 5 km walking immersed in nature, the stunning landscape of Serra da Estrela is truly magnificent. Yes, I know, this gaping hole in the mountain's lake looks like when the waters disappear mysteriously into the abyss, but is actually not! Google told me that years ago, engineers built a giant funnel to feed water to the nearby communities, an hydroelectric dam system. Incredible, right?…

Portugal also have a large coastline extending as far as the eye can see with soft golden sands on every beach. All these beautiful golden sand beaches are bathed by the Atlantic ocean and in low season, there are only few visitors. A lil peek inside the magical bookshop, Livraria Lello, one of the most prettiest bookstores in the world! As per Mr Google, The New York Times & other important newspapers have mentioned the bookstore in their top ten greatest bookshops in the world. And it seems there is a connection with JK Rowling and the Hogwarts Library in Harry Potter but I'm not a fan of that kind of books and haven't even seen the movie so I can't confirm. And last but not least, the charming Aveiro! A charming little town described as the Venice of Portugal and like Venice, Aveiro is crossed by canals that you can navigate on colorful gondolas, known as moliceiros. How vast and wide the ocean! A last glance, who knows when I'll see it again. Portugal offers so many beautiful landscapes and historical treasures and food, and beautiful people. Happy seabirds fly at sky. No, I'm not at the beach but I'd like to cause it's definitely too hot! June and July are the warmest month of the year. It’s summertime in Europe! The temperatures beginning to warm up in Tuscany, averaging around 37°C but with the potential to soar towards the 40s. So, yes! it's summer time and we like to cool off with a swim in the seawater. Yesterday for lunch we went here, a cool & shady haven. Just perfect for summer hot days. The grounds are gorgeous with a lovely view of the surrounding mountains. We went for a walk, yesterday. Lovely day chilling in this awesome place. A few km from my house there is a beautiful forested area called 'Vallombrosa' wich means valley of shade. A quiet woodland always cool & shady, the perfect place to escape the summer heat. Thank goodness we have plenty trees in Tuscany, they help to filter out sunlight and a long walk through the trees gets you back in track. Warm weather continues Happy Monday, noisy friends 🙋 #Dana📸

The happy weekend is right ahead, the hottest work week is at the end. Pfiùùù! I just read that Iceland has a 4 day work week rather than the traditionally 5 day without any calls for a cut in pay. One last look before leaving. The sea is over there, behind these hills. We are going back home, back to work. Two days of refreshing dips into the sea and breathe this air is not enough but it's ok and I feel very grateful to have had the opportunity to enjoy calming and revitalizing beach days.
