The Arno river is one of the most important rivers in Tuscany. Curtain is a good idea to keep the heat out of the house and also to protect from curious touristic eyes, given the biggest industry here, in Burano - Italy, is tourism. #ThrowbackThursday, when we visited the fascinating Bran Castle, the inspiration for Dracula's Castle in Bram Stoker's celebrated novel. Is located high above a valley perched on a rock in Transylvania, Romania. Armed with courage and hopefully garlic 😅 cause garlic scares off vampires, right? No vampires. No never-ending life. Nope! Driving home I could see the sky rapidly coloring and I made it just in time; in a matter of second a magnificent sunset changed color right before my eyes, behind an electricity pylon transmission tower. We’ve got a rather large lake quite close by, less than half an hour drive to get there. The sky as always cloudy in the morning, soon gives way to a lovely blue sky and warm sun. Along the lake we see a romantic white ducks couple lightning bolt whizzing on the lake with such grace. There is nothing more relaxing than a nice day at the lake surrounded by nature. To get our day started on the right foot we get help by our beloved coffee. Coffee comes first! Our daily cup of joe to fine tune our focus. There are sugar sachets with messages of peace. I can see the sea from here. Is calming and appears to carry an overall feeling of serenity. If you go to Florence (Italy) remember to explore the whole city, don't focus on the famous Piazza Duomo only. For example take a walk on the ‘other side’, where most of tourists only venture on the last day of their visit. Oltrarno with its Lungarno (along the Arno river) deserves a visit. The long winter is finally winding down and spring has sprung up here too, at the village of Consuma, peak at 1050 m above sea level. And we enjoyed the flowers blooming outdoors during our Sunday outings. Another brightest star of spring is Crocus flower. These giant crocus bloom bring much needed color after a long winter. Meet Earl, our juvenile lizard soaking in the sun. He's so happy to be outside again. He spend the winter underground, need to stay somewhere kind of warm during winter. As the weather gets warmer, you may see him basking to warm up in the morning. Venice color #splash As everybody knows Venice (Italy) is floating on water and it has no cars just boats; Venice’s canals are its streets and the boats are like our cars. Our Uber is the Gondola! romantic but expensive. Lol So, looking out on any narrow canals you will see a variety of floating boats: gondolas, water taxis, ambulances and a lot of private boats that move and create a lively traffic every day.
