🍕 Two pizzas for 10,000 bitcoins On May 22, 2010, the first recorded purchase of a physical product was made, for which bitcoins were used to pay. Crypto enthusiast Laszlo Hanyecz bought two pizzas for 10,000 bitcoins. At the time of the transaction, this number of bitcoins was approximately $40. To complete this deal in 2010, Hanyecz posted an offer to buy two pizzas from Papa John's on the Bitcointalk forum. The transaction required an intermediary who accepted bitcoins from Hanyecz, after which he ordered and paid for pizzas for Hanyecz. As of this writing, Bitcoin is trading at $24,500.
