Delicious, right? False! The laurel cherry (Prunus laurocerasus) is poisonous in almost all parts of the plant. When chewed, prussic acid is released. The seeds of the fruit contain the most poison. However, they (the seeds) are harmless if unchewed. The wasps seem to like it. So keep your hands off! There are better cherries to eat.
