      They wanted to bring in a law that made big tech pay the outlets for news articles posted on their platforms. Google and Facebook threatened to cut off all services to Australia. Facebook actually did it last night. They blocked fucking kids cancer charities too. 🤦‍♂️

        Jebus. What a shitshow. I can't help but think that both government AND Facebook are shitheads in this. Government for wanting to dictate what other private companies bring but also FB for being complete deuce bags.

        Governments are corrupt but also incompetent. Facebook is corrupt but very competent. They're far more dangerous.

        True, I suppose. Though an incompetent government with a lot of power can destroy a lot of value, oppertunity and lives, so that is also dangerous.
