Nothing is truly decentralized (yet)... Everything you've known to be decentralized so far has only been at best, non-custodial because almost every project out there has a centralized development team. Decentralized exchanges and dApps are in reality, only non-custodial exchanges or dApps. The closest thing we have to decentralization are code-based governance protocols, where community members can propose changes, and if voted for by the majority of the token holders, gets implemented automatically by the protocol as done by Compound. Even that has its limitations as a few token holders (whales) control what proposals are submitted and or get past the voting stage. So, don't take the current use of the word decentralized too literarily. #crypto #cryptocurrency #blockchain
