I'm still wondering how crypto banks the unbanked... The "unbanked" are mostly poor, illiterate rural and suburban dwellers who either are too poor or lacks the know-how to interact with the banking/financial system... How is crypto, in its current state with poor user experience, banking the unbanked...? #Cryptocurrency

not sure about the illiterate bit. I still remember being in the Peruvian Andes and seeing a lady in traditional dress walking down the street with a mobile phone attached to her ear. But yes banking the unbanked is just a catchy phrase at the moment
When I asked this question, people who believe crypto anarchy lectured me, nobody is poor these days and people people also have mobile phones. I mean being an asian who has seen the slums, and poor people way closer. I found this whole crypto will help the poor and Universal basic income a big 1% rich peoples joke.
Rome wasn't built in a day. Of course, education is needed, plus a few other roadblocks like the ability to make it as efficient and simple as possible.
