What I Learned Losing Money in Crypto
Everyone talks about wins in crypto. Nobody talks about the losses. So let me go first. Back in 2021, I jumped into a trending altcoin without reading anything about the project. Just hype, tweets, and price charts. I bought in high and sold in panic. Within a week, I lost 40% of my investment. That mistake taught me more than any bull run ever could. --- 🔻 What I Learned: 1. Hype Is Expensive If you're chasing coins because Twitter or Telegram is hyped, you're probably already late. Hype moves fast—and usually exits before you enter. --- 2. DYOR Is Not a Joke “Do your own research” isn’t just a slogan. It’s the only real safety net in this space. Understanding the team, use-case, tokenomics—it all matters. --- 3. Emotional Trading = Portfolio Suicide I bought out of FOMO and sold out of fear. That’s a terrible combo. Crypto rewards patience, not panic. --- 📌 The Bottom Line: Losing money in crypto hurts. But the knowledge stays forever. It turned me from a gambler into a learner. And that, ironically, made me a better investor. --- Have you ever lost money in crypto?
