In this article, I am going to share my ways on how I earned β±XX,XXX amount of money by doing different side hustles and how it changed my life... for the better or for worse? Hmm. π€
If you already read this article of mine: 20 Things I'm Grateful for in My 20 Years on Earth, you would know by now that I started to have a side hustle 3 years ago when I was in 11th Grade at 17 years old.
When we were in Grade 11, me and my 2 best friends had been planning to do online business. We thought of selling clothes or some apparel because it is what people are interested in. They like clothes, bags, and other stuff.
In those times, online selling was just starting to sprout. It wasn't that big compared to today wherein almost everyone is doing it already.
Back then, many weeks or months have passed yet our plan is not yet happening and I feel kinda impatient already. I thought to myself that if no one initiates or takes action, our plan will just go to waste.
So one time, my ate or elder sister-in-law was selling sling bags and I volunteered to post it online also and if someone bought from me, I would have some small profit. And so I did. I think I only sold one or two bags that time but I already feel happy and proud of myself because this is a stepping stone for me. π₯°
The following day in our school, my best friends approached me and told me, "Wow! You started already!". Afterwards, the days passed by wherein I took the courage to take an action and start.
Apparels
My first ever side hustle is online business which I started around first week of December in 2019.
This first side hustle of mine is very memorable for me because everything is my first time and I learned so many things. From then on, I started to brainstorm on how I should set up my own online business. I consider things like what I should sell, the theme of my online business, the name of my shop, target audience, ways on how I can sell it, ways on how I can promote, the logo, suppliers, and so on.
I sold clothes, shorts, bags, and iconic socks together with one of my best friends but most of the time, I am the one who does all the work. Most of my target market are my classmates, schoolmates, millennials both in person and on the internet.
I didn't earn that much money here but what I earned so much are the learnings and experiences. And that's much more important for me.
Premium Accounts
After a while, I stopped selling apparel because there are so many online businesses also that are popping out. That means I have competitors and buyers have more options on where they should buy. The pandemic also came so I completely decided to stop selling.
I track my income and expenses cause I love listing things down. There was a time during the lockdown, I felt unusual about my income and expenses list because I got used to having income every month. But I thought to myself, "what product will I sell this time during pandemic?".
Then around April last year, I came across a post on the internet wherein someone is selling a Netf*** account. I never tried subscribing to it because it is expensive if I am the only one who will use it. But then, they are selling shared accounts so the fees are split into 5 people and that is what makes it affordable. I tried it for 1 month and binge-watched a lot of k-dramas and other films. After 1 month when my subscription expired, I asked the seller if she accepts resellers because I was willing to be. After that, I can't remember what happened anymore but I ended up finding trustworthy suppliers and became a reseller until now (but I am not that active now in selling it as I used to before).
So far, selling premium accounts is my side hustle wherein I have the most accumulated money.
I like selling it because it is a digital product, not a physical one. I don't have to step outside our house just to ship an item and I don't have to do packaging, and stuff because everything is just digital and online. It is very convenient for me to simultaneously do online selling and online class at the same time.
The most unforgettable moment I had when I was selling this was in February when I tried to do Facebook ads. Maybe in around 1-3 days, I earned around β±10,000 already which is by far my most accumulated within a short period of time.
E-books
Through selling premium accounts, I also discovered from my supplier about selling e-books because it is also a form of a digital product. I earned just enough.
Art Commission
Around May or June last 2020, I learned how to do basic digital arts. I learned through YouTube and asked some help from my close friend through Messenger.
After I did some artwork, 'sobrang kapal ng mukha ko' (shameless) because I immediately opened an art commission. Hahaha. Feeling pro. π€£
Around this time, I started to be determined to earn money because I have a plan to buy a gaming laptop for architecture which is absolutely expensive, around β±50,000 and above. And until now, I'm still saving up for it. My goal is to buy a gaming laptop this year.
Maybe that's the reason why I opened an art commission even though I'm not that pro yet in making digital arts.
This side hustle is my third most accumulated money.
Load
Since I started selling premium accounts, I frequently used online wallets like GCash, PayMaya, and coins.ph. Afterward, I learned that you can buy loads through these online wallets and you can get 5%-10% cashback.
My family always needs a load for their work and personal communication, so I thought about having a loading business and they are my customers. At least if they are going to buy a load from me, they don't have to go to stores anymore. Hahaha.
As of now, I use coins.ph to buy load because it has 10% cashback.
I only earn a small amount by doing this but I'm fine with it.
Presets
Just like e-books, I also discover selling presets because it is also a digital product. This side hustle is my least accumulated money.
read.cash & noise.cash
These two platforms are what I consider my main side hustle at the moment. This is my first time to earn not through fiat money but through cryptocurrency which is Bitcoin Cash or BCH. π
At the moment, I am not earning much through read.cash because Rusty is not visiting me for 3 weeks now. I really miss him. π₯Ί What I do is to be active on noise.cash to regain my low earnings in read.cash. Good thing, my heart value in noise.cash is doing quite nicely. Anyways, subscribe to my noise.cash because I am noisy there: CrazyRichFilipina. π€
So far, this is my second side hustle with the most accumulated money. I guess if Rusty keeps on noticing me until now, it would surpass my Premium Accounts earnings. But it's okay.
After discussing my side hustles, I am going to talk about how did these changed my life aka my fruit of labor from doing these stuff...
My Fruit of Labor
Learnings
Through doing side hustles, I have gained experiences that lead to giving me so many learnings. I learned how to negotiate with people, handle social media business accounts, advertise/promote, edit photos, and all that online business jazz. I also learned to be keen about my finances.
I have a goal to become a girl boss someday, so those learnings/knowledge that I gained, I can use them again when I put up my serious business in the future.
I also realized that earning money is not that easy. That's why we should pay respect to people who do their best to earn a living such as our parents, waiters, garbage collectors, and others. We have no idea how hard they work so the least that we can do for them is to respect and be kind to them. π
Phone
Because of selling apparel (combined with my saved school allowance from my parents) back in 2019, I managed to buy myself a phone for the very first time. Back then, the phones I had were just the old phones of my older siblings aka pinaglumaan. That's why getting myself a brand new phone is a big deal for me.
Things
Some of the material things I bought are from my own money through my side hustles. I don't ask that much from my parents because I feel shy.
Experiences
Whenever me and my friends has to go to a trip somewhere, eat out, or just hang out, I don't have to ask money from my parents most of the time. I don't mind that much spending money on experiences because it is an intangible thing aka memories that I am going to hold onto forever.
Investments
By doing side hustles (and some allowance and gifts from my parents and others), I am able to venture into investing when I was 18. Read my first ever investment here and my another investment here: Invest in Pag-IBIG MP2: What is that?. I think I can't be able to invest if I only lean on to my allowance because right now during pandemic, I don't have any allowance. π₯΄
β±6X,XXX
This is only my rough estimate. This is actually small number for someone doing side hustles for 3 years. But take note: I don't actually do side hustles regularly because I have my lazy days and busy academic seasons. π΅ However, this time, I try to push myself everyday to at least do something that would earn me money.
Those are my fruit of labor! It may not look that much but it is really a game changer for me.
To someone out there who also do side hustles but felt like they are not earning enough or they are earning very slow, remember...
"Small progress is still a progress."
To everyone who are also doing side hustles, I salute you! Everything that we do may not be easy, but in the end, we still keep on pushing ourselves. You may sometimes think if what do we get from doing this work but always remember that hard work and effort will never betray you, it will pay off. Let's keep going.
"Take a leap of faith. You never know what's waiting for you on the other side."
Disclaimer: Everything I discuss here is not meant to brag, but just to share and hopefully to inspire. What I earned for years is actually just a small amount compared to others who also do side hustles for how many years, that's why I really don't have much to brag about. Haha.
Also, some people here are telling me that maybe I'm rich because of my username, CrazyRichFilipina, which is only inspired by the film "Crazy Rich Asians". Hahaha. How I wish, guys. Let's just say that I'm on the way on becoming rich. #Manifesting #LawOfAttraction ππ€

Few days ago I watched 2 videos about their 10-11 sources of income and here you are talking about it as well. Bow down. πββοΈ nakakainspire. I also want to have other sources of income. I do have a chili garlic business that I put on hold because of lack of budget but I do have a Facebook page for that. Challenging yung pag posts lalo pati sa photo kailangan mala PRO. Pero babawi ako food this year. I started selling it 2018 pero nung 2020 lang ako gumawa ng Facebook page. Di ko din minotor nga expenses ko with everything lalo profit. Kasi diretso ginagamit ko yung profit para sa kautangan.
I hope you'll have an article about handling business social media accounts and fot advertising/promoting. Limited lang alam ko with marketing.
By the way, thanks for including waiters for the people that should be given respect. I used to work in restaurants for more than 10 years and there are really some people eho disrespects us. Some even degrade us as if we did not finish college. Minsan sarap sampalin ng diploma. Gigil ako talaga sa mga ganun. Meron instance before grabe talaga siya tapos nung nalaman saan ako nag-aral biglang bumait sabay bola pa. π‘
