Another Season completed in Splinterlands (https://tinyurl.com/523j22e5) getting 80 chests to open which contained 3 more Epic cards and unfortunately no legendaries or golden foils. A great tip by the way for those that want to potentially pick up cheap cards is to scout the market after the season is over as many who aim to sell need to undercut which tends to produce some cheap deals. #Splinterlands

Stills a great rewards. i was thinking about buying some cards, but i need some useful cards not just numbers. i thought of buying a summoner like Mylor but it's $49 and it's all i have in DEC so i need to think more on this.
I personally would not buy a Mylor for 49$; that will give you 12+ Chaos Legion Packs in a couple of months and 60 cards which will likely include some summoners. I'm hunting for some more cards just as an investment using some of what I'm earning to put on the rental market right now even though I'm already overextended in my Splinterlands holdings :) The big issue right now is that DEC is giving so much of the SPS airdrop that buying cards kind of kills that as they are always valued a lot lower in terms of airdrop points
You are right, the packs would hold more advantages, i am just worrying about the DEC prices.
As long as the SPS aidrop continues to go there is enough reason for players to hold their DEC and the price should hold up. After that, I am not sure how they will keep it from totally crashing though since everyone at once will want to dump their DEC. Lower DEC price = less incentive to play = fewer players = less DEC gets printed = less rewards = more players leaving. At least that's how I understand it right now. For now there are well over 250+ days left so enough time before really starting to be worried.
The developers should be thinking of that, i don't think they will let the game fall down without doing something, until that, as you are saying it's early to think. Because of my over thinking, i sold some DEC yesterday at 1K = $9.5, and yes i regret that.
