The new monetization model that was introduced for the archmage bot in Splinterlands (https://tinyurl.com/523j22e5) feels like a complete rip-off as they charge 35% on all SPS earnings regardless that matches were played by the bot or manually. It just feels like extreme greed to me and they don't seem to be changing their mind despite a lot of users complaining about it and shutting down their bot. I still hope they come to their senses and I might try Splintermate in the meantime which charges a 1$ fixed monthly fee for their service which is 50x less compared to what I would have had to pay for Archmage.
