From yesterday drive this is a photograph from Glacierview Alaska while I was waiting for the car to cool down again. From the last report there was multiple wild fires around the state causing hazy Mountain View’s. We had a good breeze last night so hopefully that help with Haze to blown away. Day 3 in Alaska
@Chuckinflorida in July 2022
Just hanging around the homestead I did make it to the outlook that looks out over Wasilla lake and the Parks highway. We head North on the 4th for our 3 days of camping at Montana Creek Alaska for two days in one day up near Denali National Park. It’s July 2nd at 8:15 am Good Morning 🌞
Photographed a few robins in the yard this morning what is a juvenile and the others probably mom. She finding some kind of berries to either eat or to give them to her young. #Nature #birds
This Morning’s look around the valley and pioneer Peak towards Palmer Alaska. Tomorrow is head north towards the great mountain Denali for some camping. It kind of sucks not having a car to just go when I like but to rent a car is crazy expensive.
It’s a beautiful Independence Day here in the USA 🇺🇸 and it’s going to be a day full of hiking and a little fishing as we make our way up to Montana Creek Alaska for two days of RV camping enjoying the Beauty of Alaska as we drive north on the Parks Hwy. Check in is at 2pm. Photograph of some beautiful Fireweed.
Was up at 6:30 am at the creek what a beautiful sunny morning still can’t see Denali because of the haze. Going try some fly fishing today.
Hanging out in Talkeetna Alaska this afternoon we stopped at a Burger joint for lunch then we wondered through the streets down to the river to see if we can see Denali tallest mountain in North America.
Yesterday while having lunch we had a visitor at the window this cute little squirrel was watching us while eating it's own lunch of sunflowers.
Yesterday morning hike along Montana Creek I seen a variety of birds this one is a greater yellow legs there was a few Spond out king salmon on the banks and the seagulls were enjoying that for their breakfast.
On our way home from camping my sister's car started overheating again so we pulled over to let it cool and add water. While wait this very noisy magpie decided to come in next to the RV make all kinds of noise i guess it didn't like us in it area.
While hiking I was enjoying some of Alaska's wild roses. There are so many different wildflowers I love Alaska and it's natural Beauty.
I finally got set free and got the uses of the car. As of right now I’m driving up to Hatcher Pass just taking my time and enjoying the beautiful scenery as I come to it.
A few more photos of my day trip through Hatcher Pass down to Willow Alaska almost put 100 miles on my sisters car. I was surprised I was gone for 5 hours enjoying the pure natural beauty that is Alaska. As I was riding the dirt roads I was encountering the so cute Arctic squirrels laying in the middle of the road sunning themselves I did catch a photograph of one when stopped it was checking me wondering what I was doing. Of course what’s the day with a bird photo the is a…
Caught this savanna sparrow in a takeoff I do getting action photographs but it’s rare for me to get a good shot either I’m not fast enough Or I don’t have my speed of my camera fast enough. I only have a few days left before I fly back to Florida 🥲 good news is the ATV should be fixed today and ready to ride tomorrow hoping make it up to Eska falls.
Went out with my Sisters dog Maggie she loves Chasing her ball but she is not as young as she once was. It is amazing how good she is at catching that ball.
Riding the road to Willow Ak. Lots of wildflowers to photograph even a old bus in the middle of nowhere.
This has to be one of my favorite locations one reason it's close to my sisters only takes about 20 to 30 minutes to get there from her home. There are countless trails to hike and all kinds of photography opportunities from Beautiful alpine wildflowers.
This was the most shaking I ever felt in 12 years that I been visiting Alaska. It happened last night at 11:24 pm and shook for least 10 to 15 seconds. Anyone feel these in their area? A few years ago my sister had one that was a 7.2 magnitude it made a big mess of there home.
Well Monday was my last chance I had to get out in the wilderness before flying home back to Florida tonight. It turn out it wasn't My Brother-in-law worked most of the day on his ATV Polaris wildcat but didn't get it fixed until late and his vacation was over also and had to go back to work on Tuesday he thought it turn out when he may it to work, he was asked why are you here lol he had one more day off so he came home and we loaded up the Polaris wildcat and headed out to…
On my last day riding the trails of Jim’s Creek I spotted two bald eagles I wish I would of had better conditions that was overcast photograph didn’t come out as good as I would’ve liked. I need a blue sky I got lucky and one of them flew up in a tree right next to where we were at the other flew across the river to the other side and land in a tree there. This the night I fly home and always get me sad 😞 because I don’t want to go back to Florida and end my vacation.
Landing at Salt Lake City international Airport what a beautiful view at 6:10 am. Now the 5 hour wait until my next flight to Orlando Florida.
What a Way to end a vacation family arrived home at 11:20 PM last night a good 24 hours of traveling home with not much rest in between. When we arrived in Orlando we sat on the tarmac for 42 minutes because of lightning before he could get off the plane then I went to luggage claim and waited and waited at the location to pick up my one bag and never had it come almost an hour of waiting someone mentioned they found her bag sitting over in a certain location. Guess what I…
I was very happy to see the big return of the hummingbirds to my bottlebrush trees. As I was having my coffee this morning out on the deck before it got too hot I had multiple hummingbirds coming in to feed the funny thing was to watch them fighting each other I believe it’s a territorial thing.
Happy #Caturday my cats were very happy to see me for first time in 2 1/2 weeks. I don’t think they were getting their regular feeding while I was gone. I asked the kid that was taking my place while I was gone to make sure he said he would but I don’t think he did.
More hummingbird photographs from Friday. I would have to say these tiny birds are natures marvels being able to hover in one spot for long periods of time while enjoying the nectar out of the flowers that they feeding on.
Since I’ve been home from Alaska the very first full day here I started coming down with a cold and I’ve been feeling like dog poop for the last few days. Lol im here at work trying to survive the 10 hours I have to do today then I have 3 days off.
Wow I tested positive for covid and waiting for description for my doctor. So I’m still feeling quite crappy
This is a place I seen on my ride back from Montana Creek Alaska after camping for a few days. This was I willow Alaska where I seen this big patch of fireweed there was actually a guy in the middle of it taking a photograph made me think that I’d like to do the same thing. On my day I did have the car I Drove the back way through Hatcher Pass down to Willow onto the Parks Highway and Parked the car and got this photograph.
Since I’ve been sick since getting home from Alaska I haven’t really felt like posting much I’m slowly starting to feel better looking back to my trip to Alaska and some of the places we visited a place we camped out for two nights and tried to fish for and catch fish you have to have the salmon running at a time and they were not for me. Even the rainbow trout weren’t biting.
Sharing some of the alpine flowers I seen on one of my hikes when I was in Alaska. I don’t know any of the names of these beauties but if you can identify any I would like I’d like to know also. #Nature #wildflowers
First day back to work after being sick with Covid to find out one of my favorite catI had here at work was found dead yesterday makes me a very sad person Halftail was a good cat. Here is one of my favorite photographs of him remembering halftail 🥲🥲🥲
When I got home from work I noticed at least 10 to 12 of these beautiful birds perched on this big oak tree. It’s very rare to see the swallow tailed kite perched on a tree 90% of the time I’ve seen them have been flying. The swallowtail kite. A graceful, uniquely shaped raptor with long, narrow wings and deeply forked tail. Black-and-white with shining blue-gray upperwing. Usually seen in flight as it soars and glides while twisting its tail. Wingbeats are deep, fluid…
Hiking the Florida Everglades in one my favorite locations in Everglades National Park. Photographed is red shouldered hawk sitting on top of a wire. Information gathered from Merlin bird ID app. Smaller than Red-tailed Hawk. Adults are beautiful with rich orange barring below and bold black-and-white checkerboard patterning on wings. Often in forested areas, where they hunt from perches. Perches on wires more frequently than Red-tailed Hawk. In flight, wings seem narrow and…
Photographs of Homestead bayfront Park it’s a nice little beach but you got to beaware of the crocodiles that are in the area. The question is who wants to go swimming.
I am slowly get over the covid virus for the first week I didn’t feel like going outside or doing anything then they let me go back to work but I still have this stinking cough with a full day rest yesterday I decided to go out and see if I could photograph the hummingbirds around my fire bush And they didn’t disappoint me and I had a few pose for photographs. Then to my surprise I had some black belly ducks fly over and land in the oak tree not far from my house.…
I was trying to bet better photograph of the hummingbirds but it’s just getting too hot too fast. Weather is expecting to be in the high 90s with heat index in the 110°F range. I did have a male cardinal come visit me for a few photographs and to my surprise the blackbellied whistling ducks flew over and landed back in that same tree as yesterday morning.
I know it’s the way of nature but when I came to work this morning I believe it was a coyote that dug up my cat 🐈⬛ Halftail as you may know last Saturday he was found passed away under the tree the guy that was here in my place buried him but must’ve not buried him deep enough because a stinking coyote Dug him up You can see coyote tracks around the hole. It just made me sad all over again all that was left was his Skull so I buried it in a better place and deeper this…
Yesterday while out watching the hummingbirds I was also watching the bumblebees come in to the same flowers as the hummingbirds
So I understand someone won the mega millions yesterday from Illinois if they take a lump sum that would be over $700 million Tell me it’s my friend from Illinois @myklj999
I went over to make sure that the cats had water to my surprise Mrs. T was over at Mr. T‘s den fighting with him being that Mr. T‘s been crippled from being hit by the car a few months back he had no chance against Mrs. T. Mr. T was down and out lucky I was around because she flipped him on his back. https://youtu.be/73P58x1iLSs
It is so hot out here today but it seems the butterflies are loving it. The heat index is just below 100° F right now I hope you all are staying cool.
