It's funny, about two months ago, my friend @XRayMan posted a series of photos dedicated to the statues of the monastery of Alcobaça that represent the four cardinal virtues: justice, prudence, strength and temperance. He did not know and that with those photos he took me out of a mistake I had about four similar statues found in the church of San Fructuoso here in Santiago. The first time I noticed them was years ago when a local guide told me that the statues in question curiously represented the four sticks of the Spanish deck, golds(Oros), swords(espadas), clubs(bastos) and cups(copas). I, ignorant of myself have been left with that explanation until now that I have discovered that in reality statues are also the four virtues, a much more logical thing. In any case, the explanation of the local guide, although incomplete, I do not think is wrong at all, as possibly in the design of the Spanish deck these figures were taken as a reference. Also in the deck of the tarot the 4 virtues are represented with a card each. Thanks @XRayMan (By the way, you still have to upload the last photo.)
