Danas sam isla na pijacu da pazarim sve sto mi treba za Badnji dan i Bozic, ostalo je jos meso da se kupi...nismo se dogovorili da li jagnjetinu ili prasetinu...ima i onih koji ne jedu jagnjetinu. Pijaca je bila puna badnjaka i saksija sa zelenim zitom. Badnjak je srpski običaji u vezi sa sečenjem hrasta i simbolika drveta koje se unosi u kuću na Badnje veče. Badnjak simboliše hrast koji su pastiri doneli u vitlejemsku pećinu gde je rođen Isus i koje je pravedni Josif založio da ugreje hladnu pećinu. Varnice koje su poletele u nebo su najavile poseban događaj. Takođe, badnjak je najava Časnog krsta Hristovog.
