Rare to see these praying mantis in the garden. They blend very well and often go unnoticed. This one is green here next to the green leaves on my deck. Other times they will be brown, depends on their environment. To capture their prey, mantids use their camouflage to blend in with the surroundings and wait for the prey to be within striking distance. The majority are found in Asia. About 20 species are native to the USA. #AlwaysOriginal

Praying mantis are always amazing creatures to me. Whenever I see one I have to try to get a pic. I do not see them often, though.
Look how he can stretch and hang from side to side :) I don't see much here,I see more snails in the forest :) Maybe I have to look more carefully next time :) Beautiful capture, Carol
