Now, the question to ask is... 'Who lent Genesis the money to get started?'. @SweptOverNiagara asked the question in the post https://www.publish0x.com/the-brave-new-world/crypto-lender-genesis-files-for-bankruptcy-protection-xjrvlog?a=y1ako5raQG In 2004, Barry founded Restricted Stock Partners, a trading platform for restricted securities issued by companies as part of private deals. The company expanded and changed its name in 2008 to SecondMarket. Nasdaq bought SecondMarket in 2015 for an undisclosed amount. Barry launched Digital Currency Group in New York in 2015. Barry relaunched SecondMarket’s crypto trading division as Genesis Trading the same year, As crypto markets soared in value, DCG raised money from the venture capital arm of Bain Capital, MasterCard, New York Life Insurance Company, and Canadian bank CIBC. Barry bought about $175,000 worth of Bitcoin in 2012, paying about $11. So it is possible Barry started Genisis with his own money and later used other people money to grow DCG and Genesis.
