Couldn’t sleep on the Auckland to Perth flight. Had a coffee and read 426 pages of Benjamin Roth’s The Great Depression: A Diary Benjamin was a sole practice lawyer in America who decided to keep a diary of the events of the day. The book has been on my READING LIST FOR YOUNG MILLENNIANS for a number of years. 4 down 3 to go. Very interesting to see parallels with today - cars and clothes may be different but human nature hasn’t changed. - People keep making the same mistakes that were made in the 1920’s to 1940’s. - Very few people got to keep their wealth they accumulated in the 1920’s, most lost it all. - Money was printed and given to the banks - for those that had cash there were quality assets available at extreme discounts What side of history do you want to be on?
