Today I was browsing aimlessly through cyberspace and came across the following quote:

It was written by John Perry Barlow in 1996, primarily in response to the passing into law of the Telecommunications Act 1996 in the United States. It was published online on February 08, 1996. John Perry Barlow was a founder of the Electronic Frontier Foundation and had already written extensively on the Internet and its social and legal phenomena. **24 Years Later** Hindsight is a wonderful thing. You have to admire John Perry Barlow's optimism in a time when the internet was fairly new and held so much promise.  In 2004 when John Perry Barlow reflected on his 1990s work.
