Cooking Oil? The world's largest passenger airplane, the A380 successfully completed two test flights powered by 100% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). "The SAF was produced in Normandy and was made from Hydroprocessed Esters and Fatty Acids. The fuel was free from aromatics and sulfur and primarily consisted of used cooking oil and other waste fats." "Increasing the use of SAF remains a key pathway to achieving the industry's ambition of net-zero carbon emissions by 2050", said the company. Last week, I also saw a news about a Filipino engineering student from Camarines Sur who invented a stove that uses used cooking oil. And tomorrow, since it's our patronal fiesta, I'm sure there are lots of used cooking oils in every home and hope those can be recycled in several ways. I'm thinking to use our used vegetable oil as a lamp oil. Rainy Friday evening! Keep safe everyone especially to those in flooded areas in Visayas and Mindanao.
