We know our Mother Nature is happy, when she sheds her tears of joy upon leaves and flowers, we often disguise them as 'Dew Drops'! - Tanvi Purohit Good Morning/Evening Noise World! πŸ™πŸ’š Today is Monday, the 24th day of offering flowers to Mama Mary. And here's our May Flower Bloom, Common Lantana or we call it here Haroy-haroy or Baho-baho since it has a smell like herb. It is a small flowering shrub with berries invasive in the farm before but sad to say they are few now and so I planted some here in our garden for conservation. Lantana belongs to Family of Verbenacea and did you know that its leaves can be used as tea? It's good for fever, flu, colds, cough, toothaches, and indigestion. Also relieves symptoms of rheumatism and other joint pains. Pounded fresh leaves applied as poultice for sprains, wounds and contusions. (medicinalplants101.blogspot.com) Its flowers can be used as mosquitoe repellant. Flower extract mixed in coconut oil provides 94.5% protection against mosquitoes. (www.pruce.com) Some experts claim that lantana berries are edible and also according to our parents and grandparents it can be eaten when ripe. Yes we used to eat that before when we were young, like birds and some animals do . But like Tino-tino or gooseberry, it is somewhat toxic if eaten while it is still green.
