Tomatoe Shoot Since my subjects for photoshoots this afternoon was just outside the house, I noticed some of the fruits of our potted tomatoes were already in orange. We planted these in recycled biscuit containers, mineral water bottles, plastic pouches of milk, and even in coco shells two months ago as part of my Mother Nature Duties. We just add compost to the soil once a week for improvement of growth and health especially during fruiting time. I'm not sure of the variety since we buy in different shapes and sizes and just mix it on seed beds and maybe even some vendors don't know what kind of tomatoes they are selling. But when I searched it on google, it looks like roma tomatoes used for both canning and producing tomatoe paste. Tomatoes are actually fruits but are considered as vegetables and we often cook it together with other vegetables. They are major source of the antioxidant lycopene which may reduce risk of heart disease and cancer. Also great source of vitamin C, K, potassium, and folate. Some of these are on the other side under a tree and I'm just waiting for more fruits to capture. This one in photo was planted ahead that's why, and this is a survivor tomatoe because it is actually injured. I just put some braces on the stem and luckily it bears fruits even our mingming always jumped into it while hunting some insects 😅. Hopefully next weeks we can harvest some for tomatoe salads. And remember, eat kamatis (tomatoes) para sa magandang kutis (for smooth skin).
