Homemade Perfume It seems that I can't stop myself from taking photos of orchid blooms. Another batch of blooms showered by the first heavy rains of April. The first blooms were about to fall off and so before that happen, I picked some petals to make my homemade perfume. My doctor told me before not to use strong scented perfumes and colognes to avoid allergies and so I stopped using those. Only now, after almost a decade that I thought of making natural, plant-based perfume from our own plants. And so, I asked google how to do it and followed the steps from everything orchid. com. First, collect orchid petals. Combine it with water (distilled water if available). Boil it for 2 hours. Let the mixture cool for an hour. Strain the mixture into spray bottle. And based on the result of my experiment, the mixture was in dark purple on first 2 days but today as you can see in the last photo, it turned into burgundy or dark-red purplish color, like the dark color in the center part of the flower. And I just love the smell! It smells like candy, raspberry or strawberry. A Blessed Scent-day!
